About Me

My background

My name is Chris Lopez and I am running as a Democrat for Michigan’s House District 108.

I was born on February 24th, 1984 in San Jose, CA I was raised Catholic in a lower-middle income family.  I met my wife in high school in 1999 And we married in 2009, together we have one son and four daughters ages 21, 18, 16,16, 11.  My wife is an entrepreneur and investor.

At the age of 21 I joined the U.S. Army as a Human Intelligence (HUMINT) Collector in April 2005 and in February 2006 I completed the U.S. Army HUMINT course in Fort Huachuca, AZ.  I was assigned to the Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division out of Fort Bliss, TX. As a Private First Class I deployed as a Team Leader to Mosul, Iraq on October 27th, 2006. During my deployment I was promoted to the rank of Specialist then Corporal.  I returned from Iraq in December 2007 and left the U.S. Army with an Honorable Discharge in December 2008.

The next day after leaving the Army I became an Instructor at the HUMINT course in Fort Huachuca as a private contractor.  In December 2010 I accepted an offer for a permanent position with the Department of Defense as a Senior HUMINT Instructor.  I left Government service in 2013 and am pursuing  a higher calling to serve in a larger capacity.
